The Minnesota Head Start Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Board members are elected their respective affiliate group; Directors, Staff and Parents. Directors and Staff board members are elected for 2 year terms, and Parents are elected for 1 year terms. In addition to elected members, there are currently two Friend Affiliate members and two Ad Hoc members of the Board of Directors. Of the Ad Hoc members, one is the accountant that currently provides fiscal management /oversight.
Within the Board we maintain elected Officer positions: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer. With the addition of the accountant from our fiscal management, this makes up our Executive Committee of the Board. This group can make decisions on behalf of the Board as a whole.
