Family Child Care Substitute
Prepare for and manage the day-to-day operational activities of a family child care setting assigned to support as a substitute or assistant caregiver. Understand and support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment. Communicate effectively with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, the family child care educator, and the parents. Build collaborative relationships with area family child care educators, and explore additional shared services supports to save providers’ cost and time. This position is responsible for the coverage of Becker County and the surrounding area.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Current CDA OR Associate’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, or a related field (minimum of Step 6 on Minnesota’s Career Lattice (https://www.mncpd.org/career-lattice/)

·        2 years of practical experience working directly with young children in a licensed early childhood setting

·       Knowledge of Minnesota Rule 2 and/or Rule 3 child care licensing regulations

·        Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

·        Ability to work independently, to be resourceful and adaptable, and to work within a flexible schedule

·        Must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus by first day of employment (medical & religious exemptions will be considered)

·       Must hold a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage if using own vehicle, and be able to arrange own transportation to meet with clients and conduct business within the service delivery area

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience with community organizing, community engagement, and/or outreach
