Level One:

Congratulations on your position as an AIAN Head Start/Early Head Director! New Directors often feel alone in learning the position and overwhelmed by immediate challenges. We invite you to attend the new director orientation that is geared for new directors and leaders in Tribal HS/EHS programs. We want to ensure you have the information you need to navigate your new position. The training will focus on building systems vital to your success as you provide leadership for high-quality services for children and families. New Directors will leave with tools to utilize in daily operations as well as an understanding of the support systems available through AIAN Head Start. Participants will engage in a variety of hands-on learning opportunities to practice leadership skills, discuss current challenges and potential strategies, and develop a personalized New Director Professional Development Plan.

AUDIENCE: Tribal Leaders, Head Start/Early Head Start Directors who have been in the position less than three years. HS/EHS managers interested in learning more about the role of HS Director.

Level Two and Three:

Invitation Only: Participants from the October 2022 and the February 2024 New Directors Cohort are invited to attend. This will be an opportunity to build on the initial training provided in level one or level two and dive deeper into specifics regarding grant processes, fiscal, providing timely and accurate information for governing bodies and policy council; building an effective management team, full enrollment, school readiness, mental health, staff wellness and preventing child incidents. Re-connect with peers from the level 1 cohorts. Celebrate Wins! Opportunities will be provided for meeting and supporting a new group of directors.

AUDIENCE: Participants from the October 2022 and the February 2024 New Directors Cohorts

Level 1, 2, & 3 will all be held at the same location January 28-30, 2025.
