Facilities represent a sizable investment for most Head Start programs requiring visionary leadership and collaborative planning to design a space that reflects the culture of the community and meets current needs. Facilities directly impact the services programs offer to children and families.
Whether programs are proposing to purchase, renovate, or construct a facility, completing the 1303 application can be a complex task. In addition to exploring the pre-planning and multi-step application process, this three-day institute will identify strategies grant recipients can use to help programs articulate and justify facility needs and funding opportunities. Participants will also examine how to develop strategies for budgeting for ongoing maintenance and repairs of existing facilities.
