Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education; Masters Degree preferred JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE 5 years in Education SUPERVISION GIVEN 8 FTE SUPERVISION RECEIVED Executive Director WAGE RANGE $67,288 - $81,200 BENEFITS “All” with a regular schedule of 30+ hours/week Job Summary: The Early Childhood Education and Disabilities Coordinator will work with a team of coordinators to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of designated Center Based programs operated by Reach-Up Inc. The Early Childhood Education and Disabilities Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating and overseeing disability services in compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards. Essential Functions and Duties: 1. Directs and implements Reach-Up Inc.'s Early Childhood Education program according to the Head Start Performance Standards & the Minnesota Department of Human Services regulations. 2. Works with the Early Childhood Education Coordinators to oversee the development and operation of the Center Based, Home Based and combination programs, which includes licensing. 3. Coordinates and implements Disability Services to meet the needs of children with disabilities and special needs. 4. Supervises Center-Based Teachers and the Early Childhood Screening Assistant and participates in the hiring process for these positions. 5. Works with Early Childhood Education Coordinators, the Management Teams, and other Reach-Up Inc. staff to ensure well-coordinated program that include all program area facets. 6. Implements procedures for screening, referral, and assessment of Early Head Start and Head Start children. Collaborates with School District Early Childhood Special Education staff to provide services. 7. Participates in MHSA groups specific to Early Childhood Special Education and serves on outside Advisory Boards and Committees. 8. Works with Education Coordinators to ensure appropriate daily staffing patterns that meet licensing requirements. 9. Provides periodic updates of progress in the Early Childhood Development and Health program area through semi-annual reports, periodic meetings and annual outcomes. 10. Works with the Early Childhood Education Coordinators to oversee new and on-going training for teaching staff, in-services and degree completion. 11. Maintains understanding of current resources and methods in the Early Childhood Education field and shares with appropriate staff. 12. Works with parents and families to assure their involvement in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. 13. Supports efficient use of budget funds through cost effective use of materials and careful purchasing of supplies. 2. Performs general clerical functions. Skills and Education: 1. B.S./B.A./B.E.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education; Masters Degree preferred 2. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, solve problems and provide leadership 3. Supervisory, organizational and management skills 4. Ability to work with young children and to assess their progress or lack of progress 5. Knowledge of community resources, referral agencies, and record keeping procedures 6. Computer skills and familiarity with software programs 7. Ability to furnish own means of transportation, with 100,000/300,000 liability limits for bodily injury, underinsured motorist and uninsured motorist. Tools and Materials Used: The manual dexterity to operate typical office equipment and a vehicle. Physical Demands: The physical dexterity necessary to use a computer and sit at a desk for extended time periods. The ability to work accurately with numbers, communicate verbally, attend a workshop and drive a vehicle.
