Accounting Degree or Related Field Required SUPERVISION GIVEN 2 FTE SUPERVISION RECEIVED Executive Director STARTING WAGE SCALE $73,700 BENEFITS “All” with a regular schedule of 40+ hours/week Job Summary: The Finance Manager is responsible for coordinating the Reach-Up Inc. fiscal department to comply with Head Start and accounting regulations. Essential Functions and Duties: 1. Oversees and implements financial accounting policies and procedures which ensure proper allocation and expenditure of all agency funds. 2. Oversees the accurate recording of fiscal information and prepares all required financial reports for the Board of Directors, Policy Council, and funding sources. 3. Implements and maintains financial control systems to protect agency assets. 4. Develops and maintains Chart of Accounts to ensure that expenditures are made appropriately. 5. Assists in the preparation and review of the necessary income tax filings and payroll tax return filings with the agency’s tax firm and payroll service provider. 6. Ensures, in cooperation with Management Staff, that fiscal considerations are addressed in program planning and implementation. 7. Develops budgets in cooperation with the Executive Director and with input from the Finance Committee and Management Staff. 8. Ensures, in cooperation with the agency's auditing firm, that audits are completed in a timely manner and that findings and other issues are addressed as necessary. 9. Supervises the fiscal staff to ensure effective fiscal operations. 10. Reviews monthly financial statements and prepares financial forecasts to prevent overspending of grants. 11. Maintains a positive work environment by performing and communicating in a professional manner with agency staff, families served, and community contacts. 12. B.S./B.A. accounting degree or related field with 2 years of experience required 2. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles for non-profit agencies 3. Experience using personal computer and software including Windows, Abila MIP Fund Accounting, MS Word, Access and Excel and payroll processing 4. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, solve problems and provide leadership 5. Ability to interact effectively in a team environment. 6. Supervisory, organizational and management skills Tools and Materials Used: The manual dexterity to operate typical office equipment and a vehicle. Physical Demands: The physical dexterity necessary to use a computer and sit at a desk for extended time periods. The ability to work accurately with numbers, communicate verbally, attend a workshop and drive a vehicle.
