Full Job Description: MAHUBE-OTWA is actively recruiting a Program Support Specialist staff for our Head Start program. Seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual with independent initiative and strong computer skills to provide administrative and clerical support to program management. Responsible for overseeing transportation operations for our Head Start program, ensuring safe, efficient, and regulation-compliant services for children and families. In this role, you’ll supervise bus drivers and monitors, manage vehicle maintenance, coordinate routes, and support staff training. You’ll also assist with program-level inventory and procurement, maintain accurate data across multiple systems, and serve as a key leader who upholds our agency’s mission and values. Experience in supervising and working with low-income families strongly preferred. Familiarity with the Head Start Program and Performance Standards. Must have knowledge of MN Department of Public Safety and MN Department of Transportation and associated driving regulations as well as NHTSA guidelines. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbal. Ability to express/exchange ideas and instructions to clients, the public or other employees. Basic math skills required. Ability to independently perform generally standardized work from instructions or standards and follow general procedures as well as the ability to make good decisions through the use of data and good judgement. Must have the ability to work in a positive and cooperative manner with staff, clients, and partners. Ability to handle multiple tasks, stay organized, manage time, and meet multiple deadlines while managing interruptions. Must possess an understanding of poverty and issues relevant to low-income families. Must honor private, confidential information. Strong computer knowledge and experience including proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, databases, internet and email; ability to learn and be proficient with accounting related software and programs. Must possess a valid MN Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement, school bus endorsement preferred. Must have a good driving record. Prefer experience in multi tasked environment, purchasing, inventory, and managing bus schedules/routes. Must possess and understanding of poverty and issues relevant to low-income families. Must honor private, confidential information. DHS NetStudy background clearance required. First Aid/CPR required
