Full Job Description: Job Summary: The Site Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of staff and program operations at the Buffalo Head Start Center. Education and Experience • Must have an Associate's (AA/AS), Bachelor's (BA/BS), advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or qualifications of a teacher, as authorized by the Head Start Act as amended on December 12, 2007. • Experience teaching preschool children. • Experience in staff supervision. • Experience or ability to work with groups of parents and individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Required Job Functions and Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with Head Start Director, Head Start Coordinators, and center staff to deliver high quality services for children and families. • Provide leadership to ensure delivery of a highly integrated early childhood education program for families, providing increased School Readiness outcomes. • Supervise, mentor, provide training for, and evaluate direct reports. • Schedule staff as needed ensuring adult to child ratio is followed. • Mentor and train Head Start staff on curriculum development, procedures, and policies. • Assist in conducting children's developmental screenings, submit referrals as needed, and follow up on appropriate paperwork with Special Education. • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local program regulations. • Represent WCCA Agency at appropriate inter-agency committees, school district meetings and events, and community partnership meetings and events. • Monitor effective systems for service delivery including documentation, training, monitoring, and reporting. • Work cooperatively with Head Start staff, other WCCA Agency staff, and partner agencies to plan, share new information and ideas, problem solve, and develop new methods to ensure high quality services are being delivered to children. • Prepare and maintain records and reports needed to comply with federal, state, and local regulations and evaluate program effectiveness. • Ensure staff are recording appropriate data and provide evaluation of data specific to assigned area, and share data with others as needed for program improvement. • Support and monitor professional development of staff in accordance with individual, program, and agency initiatives. • Communicate regularly with staff to plan, reflect, share information and ideas, build skills, and problem solve. • Provide information for budget development and implement resources with fiscal integrity. • Attend appropriate local and state trainings, meetings, and network groups to stay informed of new initiatives and trends in Head Start. • Provide volunteer management, training, and evaluations. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
