Full Job Description: As Teacher Assistant you’ll work with the classroom teachers to develop the learning environment, assisting in classroom activities. You’ll help set up classroom materials; keep the classroom clean and safe; read to children; organize and supervise play activities and soothe children who are upset. You will follow the lead of the classroom staff to reinforce appropriate behaviors using positive guidance. You’ll assist in family-style meals, snack, diapering/toileting, rest and teachers’ breaks. Preferred experience working with children ages birth - 5 years old. If you have a high school diploma or GED, you’ll need to earn your CDA credential or state-awarded certificate during your first two years with us. We’ll pay for it and help you do it. You must have a strong commitment to BI-CAP’s values of collaboration, innovation and compassion for those we serve. Applicants must pass a DHS Background Study and meet DHS & MN Rule 3 licensing requirements. No CDA: $17.12 - $23.96/hr; With CDA: $18.30 - $25.63/hr. depending on qualifications. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, life/add, retirement plan, holiday pay and paid time off. Retention bonuses available. Schedule: M-Th, 8 hrs/day.
