Head Start 1967 Early Head Start 2015
Head Start is a state and federally funded early childhood program for expectant mothers and children ages birth-5 years old. The program offers comprehensive services to enrolled children and families, giving priority to limited income families and children with special needs. Head Start programs offer a nurturing environment that supports the healthy growth and development of each child in the context of family, culture, and community. Early Head Start serves pregnant moms and children up to age 3 through Home Base programming, and Head Start serves children ages 3 or 4 years of age by September 1 of the school year. Head Start families can either enroll their child in full-day or part-day center-based services. Families can apply at https://caplp.org/childrenfamilies.html
