Description

WCCA serves families in Wright County and the Western portion of Hennepin County. We provide center-based Head Start services in 14 classrooms at eight locations. At our Monticello location, we partner with the Monticello School District to provide services in five integrated classrooms. The Head Start program uses the Creative Curriculum, which supports children in learning through play and creativity while developing key social-emotional and school readiness skills. WCCA provides Early Head Start home-based services to families throughout our service area. The Early Head Start program uses the Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculum, which addresses the many needs of different families including Family Health and Safety, Caring for Baby, and Toddler Development. The Early Head Start program individualizes visits to meet the specific needs of each family. All Head Start and Early Head Start families are given the opportunity to be involved in a variety of family engagement opportunities. Twice a year we offer Parent Connect, which is a parenting group that focuses on self-care, connections and caring for young children.
