Yasmina Vinci visited Minnesota.

Minnesota has meant something to Yasmina for a long time. She went to the Midwest as an immigrant and felt at home there in a way that has not left her. So when the situation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intensified and fear began spreading across the state, She wanted to get closer than her frequent anxious phone calls to local programs and their state association director. It was time to see the Minnesota Head Start community, and learn how best to support them.

What began as a brief visit extended to 11 days across six programs in urban, suburban, and deeply rural areas of the state.

Yasmina said the she wrote about it as honestly as she could. Click to read about Yasmina Vinci's visit to Minnesota.
